Why we programme noisy work outside trading hours

Occupied-building work has an invisible line item: the client's own revenue during the build. A demolition face four metres from a working consult room does not stop the appointment, it stops the practice. A concrete saw above a café at midday does not slow lunch service, it ends it for the day. So we move percussive work to before 8am and after 6pm, and we say so in the tender rather than discovering it in week three. It adds to our number. It is still the cheaper answer, and it is the one nobody prices until they have been through it once.
